09 — Wilderness Invitation

Your day begins with a snowmobile sled ride through the snowy landscape, where the forest, the open winter scenery and the quiet of the North create the feeling of leaving the everyday behind. Seated comfortably in the sled and wrapped in warm reindeer fur, you move deeper into the wilderness, where the pace slows and the silence begins to settle around you.

When you arrive at the private wilderness location, the day turns fully toward nature, stillness and the peaceful rhythm of Lapland. There is time to settle in, feel the atmosphere of the place and prepare for the fishing session ahead.

The next experience of the day is traditional ice fishing on a frozen pond in the wilderness. Together with your local guide, you will learn how to read the winter landscape, understand the frozen waters and try the fishing methods that have been part of local life for generations. Drill your own hole in the ice, prepare your fishing spot and spend time in the meditative calm that only silence, snow and nature can create.

There is something deeply grounding in these moments on the ice. Surrounded by pure air, white landscapes and the stillness of the forest, the experience becomes less about doing and more about being fully present in the moment. If the air outside has become chilly, the fire in the Kota offers a comfortable place to warm up.

After the fishing session, continue to the cozy kota kitchen by the fire. Here, the warmth of the flames welcomes you in, and the meal becomes part of the wilderness experience itself. Your host prepares a homemade fish soup using local ingredients and family recipes, and if you have been fortunate enough to catch fish during the session, your own catch can be added to the soup. It is a simple, personal and memorable way to connect the day’s fishing with the flavours of Lapland.

The meal is completed with homemade blueberry pie and black pot coffee served in the warmth of the kota.
