06 — Northern Table

Your evening begins in our traditional log-built home, where the atmosphere of the fireplace, natural materials and peaceful surroundings create a feeling of stepping away from everyday life.

The dinner table is beautifully prepared beside the fireplace, creating an intimate and authentic setting for an evening inspired by traditional Lappish hospitality. Depending on your wishes, the dinner can be enjoyed privately as your own group or together with our family, sharing stories and conversations around the table.

During the evening, you will have the opportunity to learn about our family’s life in Lapland, the surrounding area and the history of the buildings and places that have been part of our journey. Through personal stories and local knowledge, you will gain a deeper connection to the region beyond what can be experienced as a visitor.

Menu:

Starter

Traditional forest mushroom soup prepared with locally gathered wild mushrooms and inspired by the flavours of Lapland’s forests.

Main Course

Traditional Finnish sautéed reindeer (poronkäristys) served with mashed potatoes, traditional side dishes and fresh bread.

Dessert

Traditional Finnish Leipäjuusto (Bread Cheese) served with Arctic cloudberries and whipped cream.

After dinner, the evening continues with a peaceful erämaa drum ceremony, inspired by the ancient connection between northern people and nature. The deep sound of the traditional drum creates a moment of stillness and reflection, inviting guests to slow down and experience the atmosphere of Lapland in a deeper way.

If weather conditions allow and you wish to continue the evening, you may join us by the lakeside fire. Sitting beside the open flames in the Arctic darkness, surrounded by silence and nature, offers the perfect setting to enjoy the northern night and wait for the possibility of seeing the Northern Lights.
